Service

Fluids and Lubricants

Use only a grade Type II tube grease.

Store lubricants in an area protected from dust, moisture, and other contaminants.

Greasing

Use a hand-held grease gun for all greasing points.

Wipe grease nipple with a clean cloth before greasing to avoid injecting dirt and grit.

Replace and repair broken nipples immediately.

If nipples do not take grease, remove and clean them thoroughly; clean the lubricant
passageway. Replace nipples if necessary.

After properly sizing the shaft,
locate the grease nipples on the

shaft’s universal joints and pump

several shots of high-quality grease
into the grease nipples.

N O T I CE :

Ensure that the grease nipples are screwed in tightly. Occasionally, dried
paint may cover the end of the fitting on the shaft.
Remove this by scraping the paint off with a knife before injecting grease
into these nipples.

8.2.1

Service Period

The recommended period is based on normal operating conditions. Severe or unusual
conditions may require more frequent maintenance.

Hours or Daily Maintenance

Check all nuts and bolts in connection parts; replace if required.

Pump grease into each grease nipple three to five times.

Clean the implement; take away all debris and residue.
