Clean all the components from
remaining grease and
silicone.
Replace any particular damaged.
When assembling the ball
bearings and taper roller
bearings, pay attention to not
make any pressure on the cages
in order to avoid any damage.
When assembling oil seals avoid
contact with cutting parts in order
to prevent any damage to the
inner lip.
Insert oil seals taking care or
greasing the zone of contact
between oil seal and shaft.
• Assemble snap ring (17).
• Check assembled axis
preload value (K) using a
torque meter.
• Disassemble snap ring (17).
• Assemble shims (15),(19),
snap ring (17).
• Hit the pinion shaft (18) from
both sides in order to set the
axis.
• Check assembled axis
preload value (W) using a
torque meter.
• The difference between value
(W) and value (K) must to be
0÷1 Kgcm.
• If the value is not correct
change shim setting (15) in
order to obtain the right value.
Tools : Pipe, hammer, snap ring
pliers, torque meter, pliers.
• Assemble shims (15),(23),
inner ring (16) on pinion shaft
(18), using pipe and hammer.
• Assemble outer ring (16)
inside housing, using pipe and
hammer.
• Assemble pre-mounted pinion
shaft (18), inside housing.
• Assemble bearing (11) inside
housing, using pipe and
hammer.
• Assemble snap ring (5), shim
(6), outer ring (7) inside
housing, using pipe and
hammer.
• Assemble on shaft (1) :
Parallel key (8), crown wheel
(9) and inner rings (7),(7a),
using pipe and hammer.
• Assemble the pre-mounted
shaft (1) inside housing.
