Press the [MAIN] or [SUB] key to set the difference (value) between the VX-7R
display and the calibrated barometer display. For example, if the VX-7R display
shows “1024 hpa” and calibrated barometer indicates “1029 hpa” set the Barometer
offset to “+5”.
4.
Press the PTT key momentarily to save the your new setting and exit to normal
operation.
Selecting the Unit of Altimeter
1.
Press the [MON/F] key, then press the [0(SET)] key to enter the Set Mode.
2.
Rotate the DIAL to select Menu Item (Measurements #6: ALTI UNIT).
3.
Press the [MAIN] or [SUB] key to select the preferred unit (m/ft).
4.
Press the PTT key momentarily to save the your new setting and exit to normal
operation.
Correcting the Altimeter Setting (Altimeter Offset)
1.
Press the [MON/F] key, then press the [0(SET)] key to enter the Set Mode.
2.
Rotate the DIAL to select Menu Item (Measurements #7: ALTI OFST).
3.
Press the [MAIN] or [SUB] key to set the difference (value) between the VX-7R
display and the currently-displayed value and current location’s altitude. For
example, if the VX-7R display indicates “2m” while you actually are at sea level, set
the Altimeter offset to “–2” in this step. You can set the ALTI OFST at any place
(other than sea level) if you know the true altitude at you current location.

Press the PTT key momentarily to save the your new setting and exit to normal
operation.

The VX-7R includes the capability to turn itself on/off at preset time. If you use these
features, must be setup the VX-7R’s clock, described previously.

1.
Press the [MON/F] key, then press the [0(SET)] key to enter the Set mode.
2.
Rotate the DIAL to select Menu Item (Save Modes #5: ON TIMER).
3.
Press the [BAND(BND DN)] key to enable setting of this Menu Item.
4.
Press the [MAIN] or [SUB] key to set the “hour” setting you want the radio to
switch on.
