The VX-7R can be displayed various sensor information. Available selections are
“Current Time,” “Battery Voltage,” “Temperature,” and “Audio Wave form.”
And also, when the optional Barometric Pressure unit (SU-1) is installed, the unique
capability of providing readout of the current barometric pressure. This information is
then used for calculation of your current altitude and weathercast.
The Barometric Pressure unit requires calibration of the “offset” parameters, so that
differences in pressure can be used to calculate altitude. This procedure requires that
you have a calculated barometer, and that you know your current altitude. If you are at
sea level, of course, the latter parameter requires no research.
To display the sensor information:
1.
Press the [MON/F] key, then press the [0(SET)] key to enter the Set Mode.
2.
Rotate the DIAL to select Menu Item (Measurements #1: SENS DISP).
3.
Press the [MAIN] or [SUB] key to select sensor mode you wish to be displayed.
TIME: Indicate the current time.
VOLT: Indicate the battery voltage.
TEMP: Indicate the current temperature inside the transceiver’s case.
WAVE: Indicate the relative (RX and TX) audio wave-form.
BARO: Indicate the Barometric Pressure (requires SU-1).
ALTI: Indicate the Altitude (requires SU-1)
WX: Indicate the Weather Forecast (requires SU-1).
OFF: Disable the sensor information.
4.
Press the PTT key momentarily to exit to normal operation and display the sensor
information on the display.
To disable the sensor information, repeat the above procedure, pressing [MAIN] or
[SUB] key to select OFF in step 3 above.
