9. Press the probe button or tap
Scan
on the Home screen.
• If live B‑mode aiming is enabled, continue to Step 10.
• If live B‑mode aiming is disabled, hold the probe steady while the scan is in process, and then
continue to the procedure
.
10. If live B‑mode aiming is enabled, a real‑time B‑mode ultrasound image appears on the console screen.
Target the bladder by doing the following:
• Angle the probe slowly from the patient’s left to right until the dark (bladder) area is centered on the
vertical green line on the aiming screen.
• Once the bladder is centered, angle the probe slightly up or down the patient’s midline to obtain the
largest possible dark area.
11. Once you are finished aiming the probe, press the probe button or tap
Scan
on the screen. The scanning
process begins.
12. Hold the probe steady while the scan is in process. When you hear the end‑scan tone, the scan is
complete. Continue to the procedure

PROCEDURE 4. REVIEW EXAM RESULTS
This section describes the procedures that can occur after the scan. Perform the procedures that are
applicable for your installation.
CONFIRM OR ADJUST AIM
Aiming technique can have an impact on the bladder measurement result. When the bladder is partially
outside the ultrasound field of view or obstructed by the pubic bone at certain scanning angles, then the
actual bladder volume may exceed the displayed result. To help ensure the highest degree of accuracy, the
system has several features to assist with aiming technique and confirmation.
