Portions of the chimney which may extend through accessible spaces must be enclosed to avoid contact

with combustible materials or damage the chimney.

For installations where more than one chimney is located in the same non-chase or within the same

area, we suggest that their terminations be separated by at least 16" (410 mm) horizontally, and 18"

(460 mm) vertically. This separation is to prevent smoke migrating from one chimney to another.
