Active head restraints

In the event of a rear-end impact, the
active head restraints tilt slightly forwards.
The head is more effectively supported by
the head restraint and the danger of
whiplash in the area of the neck.
Active head restraints are identified by the
lettering
ACTIVE
on the head restraint
guide sleeves.
Removing the head restraints
Press and release the two catches. Pull and
remove the head restraint.
In order to increase the size of the luggage
compartment or if they are not being used,
push rear head restraints down as far as
possible, see page 65.
Note
Only approved objects or components
should be attached to the head restraint of
the unoccupied front passenger seat.
Armrest

between the front seats
The armrest can be pushed forward. If the
armrest is not required, push it back and
fold it up.
