Mobile telephones and radio
equipment (CB)
3
The Vauxhall installation instructions and
the operating guidelines provided by the
telephone manufacturer must be observed
when fitting and operating a mobile
telephone. Failure to do so could
invalidate the vehicle’s operating permit
(EU Directive 95/54/EG).
Recommended prerequisites for fault-free
operation:
z
Professionally installed exterior antenna
to obtain the maximum range possible.
z
Maximum transmission power 10 Watt.
z
Installation of the telephone in a suitable
spot (see information on page 89).
Obtain advice on predetermined
installation locations for the external
antenna and equipment holder and ways
of using devices with transmission power of
more than 10 Watts. We recommend that
you consult your Vauxhall Authorised
Repairer, who will have brackets and
various installation kits available as
accessories and will install them in
accordance with regulations.
A hands-free attachment without an
external antenna in mobile phone
standards GSM 900/1800/1900 and UMTS
must only be operated if the maximum
transmission power of the mobile phone
does not exceed 2 Watts with GSM 900 and
1 Watt in other cases. The operating
regulations stipulated by the manufacturer
of the telephone and the hands-free
attachment must be complied with.
For reasons of safety, we recommend that
you do not use the phone while driving.
Even use of a hands-free set can be a
distraction while driving. Be sure to observe
any country-specific regulations.

Warning
Mobile phones and radio equipment may
cause malfunctions in the vehicle
electronics if they are operated in the
vehicle without the external antenna
unless the above-mentioned regulations
are complied with.
Mobile phones that do not comply with
the above-mentioned mobile phone
standard and radio equipment must only
be operated using an antenna that is
attached to the exterior of the vehicle.
