UTILITIES
4.2.13.1 Simulate Mode
Simulate Mode causes the unit to display and log programmed data rather than the actual data coming in from the
sensors. This feature is useful for familiarisation with the system in laboratory conditions before deployment
commences.
Having accessed Simulate Mode, use up/down to toggle between using Online Inputs (actual data) or Simulated Mode.
Note that the instrument will always turn on in normal “Online Inputs” mode.
4.2.13.2 Set All Default
If the system settings have been corrupted for some reason, it is possible to return the system to the factory default
settings. Scroll to Reset All Defaults, and press Enter. The system will shut down, and when it is turned on again, all
default settings will have been restored. In summary these are:
•
Single channel only
•
Internal GPS
•
All external inputs off
•
All baud rates set to 19200
•
Echosounder draft settings 0.5m
•
Sound Velocity set to 1500m/s
•
WGS84 Spheroid and UTM Grid
4.2.13.3 Emulate PC Keyboard
For testing it may be desirable to control the system with a PC rather than via the keypad. If the Surveyor is connected
to a PC running a terminal emulation program, and the Emulate PC keyboard function is enabled, then the following key
strokes replicate the Surveyor keys as shown:
F1, F2, F3, F4
