12.1.3 EMC
An EMC conforming installation is required to guarantee the flawless operation of VAHLE control systems on
electric overhead conveyor rails. This includes:
Install the motor line as described in the technical data.
Install the motor connection line (U, V, W connections) separately from the sensor lines:
•
Do not use the same cable duct.
•
Do not route in parallel across longer distances.
•
Minimum distance 10cm
•
Install the motor line as short as possible.
The supply lines of the rail contact wire must be installed separately from the sensor lines:
•
Do not use the same cable duct.
•
Do not route across longer distances.
•
Minimum distance 20cm
The shieldings of the control and data lines must be attached on both sides.
Prevent loop generation of the sensor cable if the lines are too long:
•
Cut the sensor cables to length or place directly folded and bound together with cable clips in the cable
harness to prevent interspersion and inductions.
Ground the EHB vehicle directly through the grounding contact wire:
•
Connect all moving parts with low resistance to the traverse or the main girder. Use copper meshwork tape
or ground wire with a minimum cross section of 4mm
2
.
Serial connections of the grounding are permitted:
•
If a moving part is grounded, then the next moving part can be grounded on the previous moving part. For
example, you can establish a closed low resistance connection for chassis from the traverse through sev
-
eral PE connections of the motor support, control system support, front and trailer axle to the main girder
to which the control system is connected.
