4.2 Intended use
DCS1 control systems are designed for the use on the mobile side of a rail guided automation system.
Independent of the configuration, a multiplicity of sensors and actuators can be connected to the control sys

tems. The sensors and actuators are supplied by 24 V DC.
The supply voltage of the DCS1 control system depends on the respective project planning and is typically in
the following ranges:
•
AC: 3/PE/PEN 360 ... 528V ±0%; 45 ... 65Hz ±0%
Only one drive can be connected to a DCS1 control system. The connectible power depends on the frequency
converter used.
The following principles are available for the communication:
•
Half cycle
•
PCB / rail bus
•
SMGM through BCC/SMGM
The position determination for PCB and SMGM must be performed with an absolute position system (e.g. APOS
optic).
DCS1 control systems are in accordance with the protection standard IP54 and are therefore only suitable for
the inside use or an industrial environment.
Claims of any kind due to damages based on non-intended use are excluded.
The intended use includes the adherence to the information in these instructions.
Any other use, alteration or other changes that exceeds the intended use are viewed as misuse and are there
