X Axis Error using Lamination.
When using lamination on the machine, the mandrel brake needs to be adjusted, when there is too much
brake on the media the motor or grip is not strong enough to pull them both through the machine.
This causes the rubber roller on the media feed motor to slip and not feed the required amount of media to
the unwind side dancer bar before the next page is cut, giving an error.
There are other factors that can contribute to this, the first being the diameter of both the uncut media and
the laminate rolls, the smaller the rolls the more force is required to pull media off the rolls.
Media width is also a factor as the narrower the roll the less grip the media feed roller has but the brake on
the rollers and laminate will remain unchanged.
To rectify these issues the brake will need to be adjusted, this is a very simple procedure.
The Key steps are:
1. Identify the two brake straps on the unwind
(bottom right) and the lamination (top right).
2. Adjust until the resistance is eased off a little
and test by turning the disks on the mandrills
by hand. Too little resistance will cause the
media and laminate to not track straight, so it
is important that you test it until you are happy.
3. Test the feed and tracking of both the media and
the lamination with media.
