Descreening window
Applying Descreening
Descreening represents a method of eliminating the moiré patterns that can
result when printed halftone images are scanned. The Descreening function can
also be useful in eliminating other artifacts, such as film grain.
To access PowerColor’s descreening function, select Descreen from the Window
menu (or press
+ D on a Macintosh, C D in Windows).
Descreening Options
The type of descreening to be applied is selected in the top half of the Descreening
window. The available options are defined as follows:
•
Off: No descreening is used (default).
•
Coarse: The image is substantially descreened.
•
Medium: Some descreening takes place.
•
Fine: Only a small amount of descreening occurs.
•
Custom: used to set a specific line screen for the final image. Enter the
desired lpi value in the Line Screen field.
