PowerColor User Guide
As with all of PowerColor’s image correction features, USM allows you to recall
previously saved settings, apply default or save new tables. All of these functions
are found in the Settings menu (for more information, see Chapter 2).
Controlling USM in Tonal Regions
PowerColor’s USM controls allow you to regulate the amount
of unsharp masking applied to each of your image’s tonal regions. The Region
Control chart in the Unsharp Masking window shows the five tonal regions in the
image from left to right, reflecting an overall density range from 0 - 4.
Note:
The values used in the Unsharp Masking
window are arbitrary numbers for relative refer-
ence only.
The vertical axis of the Region Control chart is composed of non-editable per-
centages of sharpening to be applied. The horizontal axis contains editable fields
to define the density at which each tonal region begins.
Note:
The currently active region in the chart is
indicated in red.
