Upgrading the Processor
You can upgrade the performance of your SuperMac C500 by installing
a Processor card with higher speeds.
To upgrade the processor:
1.
Remove the cover and all of the PCI cards from the com-
puter.
See “Installing an Expansion Card” earlier in this appendix.
2.
Lift the lever above the processor module to a vertical
position.
A heat sink is located on top of the module. Make sure the module
is cool enough to touch.
3.
Grasp the old module by the edges and pull it straight
up out of the socket and set it aside.
WARNING:
The pins on the processor card are very fragile.
