volume control slider in the CDT Remote
™
if you are playing an
audio CD. The CDT Remote
™
can be found in the Apple menu.
Some monitors also place a “Monitor Sound” icon at the top of the Mon-
itors & Sound control panel.
If you set the Sound Out slider to the middle of the slider bar, you’ll
be better able to hear the adjustments you make in other ways—through
the CD Player or through the volume controls on the CD-ROM drive or
monitor—because the computer itself is set to the middle of the volume
range.
For more information about sound, see the “Sound” topic of Macintosh
Guide, available in the Guide menu.
3D Surround Sound
The 3D Surround Sound technology broadens the sound you hear from
your speakers. Since computer speakers are usually only 18 inches
apart, generating a “life-like” or “surround sound” type of experience
for a multimedia user is difficult. However, SRS technology is an ideal
sound enhancement solution because it projects the sound into the
room, providing a more realistic, natural sound experience no matter
where you stand or sit.
