Change Text Entry Mode
The text entry mode you select will be set as the default, and will be used
each time you enter text until you change the setting.
1.
Press the
HOME
key, scroll to Messaging, and press in the joystick.
2.
Press the Options soft key, scroll to Settings, and press the Select key.
3.
Scroll to Text entry mode and press the Select soft key.
4.
Scroll to Predictive or Multitap and press the Select soft key.
5.
Press the Done soft key to make the selected text mode the default.
Use Predictive Text
The predictive text method typically requires fewer keystrokes than the
multitap method. When you tap a key on the alphanumeric keypad, the
smart remote searches a dictionary database and attempts to predict the
word you want to use.
• If more than one word matches your entry, the wrong word
may appear in the text area. If this happens, you will be able
to scroll through all the matching words until you see the word
you want.
• If the word you want is not in the dictionary, you will not be
able to match the word. Then, you will have to type the
desired word in a special pop-up box using the multitap
method.
