14.1
Inserting/removing a memory card
Follow the instructions given below to insert a memory card.
1.
Turn the camera off.
2.
Open the battery cover.
3.
Insert the memory card into the camera as indicated on the battery
compartment (see figure 7). Press the memory card into the slot until it clicks
into place.
Remove the memory card by pushing it so that the lock is released. Remove
the memory card from the camera
4.
Close the battery cover.
Note:
The memory card can only be inserted into the camera in one way. Do
not force the card into the slot. This could damage both the memory
card and the camera.
Note:
The camera automatically saves photographs and video clips on a
memory card when one has been inserted into the camera.
The external memory card must first be formatted for optimal use.
Note:
NEVER remove a memory card whilst the camera is still processing
data (indicator flashes green (8, figure 4)). This may result in the loss
of data or damage.
14.2
Formatting the memory
For optimal use of the internal memory or a memory card, these must first be
formatted before being used.
1.
Set the camera to the ‘Playback’ mode.
2.
Press the ‘Menu’ button (3, figure 4).
3. Select
‘Erase’.
4.
Select ‘Format’ and click on ‘OK’.
5.
Press ‘OK’ to confirm the selection. The memory will now be formatted. “No
images on SD card!” will be displayed on the LCD screen once the memory
has been formatted.
WEBCAM
15 Using the camera as a webcam
Note:
This function does not work on an Apple Macintosh computer.
This camera can also be used as a webcam. It can then be used to record live
moving images on a computer.
15.1
Installation as a PC camera
Note:
During installation in Windows, you may receive a message saying that
the driver has not been signed. This does not cause a problem for the
functionality. Continue with the installation.
The camera can be used as a webcam when it is connected to a computer as a ‘PC
camera’. The webcam can be used for videoconferencing over the Internet using, for
example, Microsoft NetMeeting or Windows Messenger.
