Air-conditioning unit
Truma-Frostair 1500
Operating
instructions
Before starting to use the
device, it is essential that
the Operating Instructions
and „Important Instruc-
tions“ be read carefully!
The vehicle owner is respon-
sible for ensuring that the de-
vice can be operated in the
proper manner.

c = Cooling, high
Taking into operation
Before switching on, it is es-
sential to make sure that the
fuse system for the power
supply at the camp site is
sufficient for 650 W (230 V)
(at least 3 A).
In order to prevent the
power cable for the
caravan from overheating
(minimum cross-section
3 x 2.5 mm
2
) the cable drum
must be fully unwound.
To switch on the air condi-
tioner move control panel
switch to „b” for cooling at
slow fan speed or „c” for
cooling at fast fan speed.
Position „c” (high fan power)
cools the room temperature
down rapidly, and position „b”
(low fan power) is particularly
suitable for dehumidification
and during the night, since
the fan runs slowly and there-
fore extremely quietly.

When the unit is
switched on or over,
the fan starts immediately
and the compressor activates
automatically 3 minutes later.
Switching of
Switch off at control panel (a).
Notes for the use
of air-conditioners
– The Truma Frostair 1500 is
designed for minimal current
consumption. Nevertheless,
you should check before tak-
ing the system into operation
whether the camping site has
adequate fuses (minimum 3 A).
– As far as possible, park
your vehicle in the shade.
– Darkening the interior with
window blinds and/or a roof
awning will reduce the pene-
tration of radiant heat.
– Clean the roof of the vehi-
cle regularly (dirty roofs heat
up more readily).
– Before operating the de-
vice, ventilate your vehicle,
in order to allow the hot air
which builds up inside to
escape.
– Take care when putting up
awnings or similar that there
are sufficient openings for
the supply air to be dis-
charged.
– To create a healthy environ-
ment on the inside of the ve-
hicle, the difference between
the inside and outside tem-
peratures should not be se-
lected as too great. During
operation the circulated air
will be purified and dried.
Due to the drying of the
moist, humid air, a pleasant
environment will be created
inside even with slight tem-
perature differences.
– Keep the doors and win-
dows closed while the cool-
ing system is in operation.
Important
Instructions
Repairs may only be
carried out by properly
qualified professionals!
Remove and dispose of oil
and refrigerant properly be-
fore scrapping the equip-
ment.
1. To avoid damage during
transport, the device must
only be dispatched after
discussion with the Truma
Service (see page 16).
2. The voltage must be dis-
connected at all poles before
the housing is opened.
3. Any modification to the de-
vice, or the use of spare parts
and functionally-important ac-
cessories which are not origi-
nal Truma components, or
failure to respect the Installa-
tion and Operating Instruc-
tions, will lead to the cancella-
tion of the guarantee and to
the exclusion of claims for
liability.
4. The cooling circuit con-
tains the cooling agent
R 407C, and may only be
opened by a properly quali-
fied person.
5. The cool air outflow and
the ambient air suction intake
must not on any account be
obstructed. Please bear this
in mind in order to ensure the
trouble-free operation of your
device.
6. The apertures beneath the
vehicle floor must be kept
free of dirt and snow slush.
7. If the floor of the vehicle is
provided with
underfloor
protection,
all the apertures
beneath the vehicle must be
covered in order to prevent
the spray created from pene-
trating the device and caus-
ing malfunctions. Once the
work has been completed
the covers can be removed
again.
8. In order to avoid damage to
the compressor, when the de-
vice is in operation during tran-
sit (for example, with the gen-
erator or voltage transformer
working), do not attempt uphill
or downhill gradients of more
than 8%.
9. Do not allow cooling oper-
ation to run for extended pe-
riods in a tilted position, since
the condensation water
which forms may not be able
to run off, and in the worst
scenario might penetrate into
the vehicle.
Maintenance
Located on the front face of
the device is a flow filter (d)
for the suction intake of the
surrounding air. This must be
cleaned at regular intervals,
at least twice a year, and
replaced if necessary.
The appliance must
never be operated
without the flow filter. With-
out a filter the evaporator may
become contaminated with
dirt, which in turn will impair
the performance of the system.
Spare fluff filter
(Art. no. 40040-13800).
Pull fluff filter (d) forwards
slightly using recessed grips
at top and remove from
above. Insert new filter into
lower runner from above and
allow to engage at top.
The condensation water drain
is located beneath the floor of
the vehicle. In order for the
condensation water to drain
away freely, a regular check
should be made to ensure
whether drain is free of dirt,
vegetation residue, or similar
obstructions.
If this is not
done, there is a risk of
condensation water pene-
trating into the vehicle!
Trouble-shooting
In the event of a fault, you
should in principle contact
Truma Service (see page 16).
Before calling Customer
Service, please check the
following:
1. Is the 230 V mobile home
supply properly connected,
and are the fuses and protec-
tive switch in good order?
2. Are the fluff filter on the
unit and the air intake to the
stowage box in which the
device is installed free?
3. Do the cold air pipes fit ex-
actly into the cold air connec-
tions of the unit?
4. Are the air intake openings
in the floor of the vehicle free
from dirt, leaves and the like?
