Engine Oil
cbnz
Warning
Motorcycle operation with insufficient,
deteriorated, or contaminated engine
oil will cause accelerated engine wear
and
may
result
in
engine
or
transmission seizure.
Seizure of the engine or transmission
may lead to sudden loss of motorcycle
control and an accident.
In order for the engine, transmission,
and clutch to function correctly,
maintain the engine oil at the correct
level, and change the oil and oil filter in
accordance
with
scheduled
maintenance requirements.
Engine Oil Level Inspection
Warning
Never start the engine or run the
engine in a confined area.
Exhaust fumes are poisonous and can
cause loss of consciousness and death
within a short period of time.
Always operate your motorcycle in the
open-air or in an area with adequate
ventilation.
Caution
Running the engine with insufficient
engine oil will cause engine damage.
If the low oil pressure warning light
remains
on,
stop
the
engine
immediately and investigate the cause.

Crankcase engine oil level lines
To inspect the engine oil level:
• With the motorcycle upright and
off the side stand, check to see if
engine oil is visible in the sight
glass at a point halfway between
the upper (maximum) and lower
(minimum) horizontal lines marked
on the crankcase.
• If it is necessary to top up the
engine oil level, remove the filler
plug and add engine oil, a little at a
time, until the level registered in
the sight glass is correct. Refit and
tighten the filler plug.
