NOTE:
Should the pump not achieve adequate pressure levels for its designed
capacity or head, the valve will stay open. Adequate pressure to close the
valve depends on the discharge head of the pump working at full capacity.
The valve’s range of closing pressure is determined by the spring’s tension
rate when it is ordered from the factory.
Adjust valve closing pressure to the correct system application requirements
by moving the spring retaining pin up or down the plunger rod. This will
increase or decrease tension on the spring.
Contact your local WSP™ distributor or the factory for information regarding a
WSP™ ARV (automatic release valve) for many applications.
2. WSP™ Air Release Valve Installation
Independently mount the WSP™ ARV horizontally, and connect it to
the self-priming pump discharge line. (Figure 17).
NOTE:
Contact the factory for specific installation instructions if the WSP™ ARV is
being installed on a staged pump application.

Always install the valve inlet line between the pump discharge port and the
discharge check valve on the non-pressurized side. The valve inlet opening
has 1-inch standard NPT pipe threads. It is located at the large end of the
valve body.
