7. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
M100LFG-TT/150 requires minimum maintenance for continual trouble-free operation.
It is recommended to
•
Keep the wire marker in dry and clean environment.
•
Keep the cabinet clean.
•
Clean the pulling mechanism from wire debris, residue and dust on a daily basis.
•
Clean the wire guides weakly
•
Inspect the belts for wear and tear, clean from dust, replace if necessary
•
Inspect compressed air filters monthly, drain excessive moisture.
•
Inspect I/O cables and power cords for damage and loose fit.
Basic malfunctions are listed in the following table:

Power-ON light is not illuminated. Line cord is not connected. Main power switch on the back of the cabinet is
not on.
Laser Fault light is on (local fault)

Cooling system is not turned on. Cooling system pump malfunction.
•
Flow switch interlock/ Check the water bubbling in the cooling system
reservoir. Check the flow switch connections to the laser power supply.
Check the flow direction relatively to the flow sensor.
Laser Fault light is on (other
faults)
Check the laser manual for details (Appendix A, p.21)
Laser is on, but no pilot beam is
detected on the wire.
•
Alignment problem/ Check the wire position. Check the scanner offsets.
Trace the beam with a piece of paper starting from the objective. Restart
the system. Consult the factory.
•
No beam at all. / Make sure that laser shutter is open and cooling
temperature is 20C. Check the front panel of the laser power supply for
specific faults. Restart the system. Consult the factory.
Pilot beam is on, but no or partial
message is printed on the wire.
•
Alignment problem/ see above
•
Laser does not switch into the power mode/ Check Scanalone Q-SW
connection to the back of Laser Power Supply.

Power supply malfunction/ Consult factory
Marking is not legible (low
contrast)

Wire is not laser markable.

Laser power is below normal
Follow the laser power tuning procedure (Chapter 10.1.)
Lower the objective position (Chapter 10.4).
Reduce the line spacing and marking speed (chapter 10.2&3)
Ship the laser back to the factory for the repair
Message in not changing from
wire to wire
Check the connection between plc and scanner board
“Unable to load correction file”
Check the Computer-Scanner connection/Quit the marker program.
Reconnect the cable on the computer side.
Wire length is not accurate.
Check and/or replace the belts, if necessary adjust belts pressure and
straightener tension.
Motors are not moving
