4.9 Keyboard

4 Replacement Procedures

Installing the Keyboard

To install the keyboard, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-14 to 4-17.

Place the

keyboard

face down on the palm rest and connect the

keyboard flexible

cable

to the connector

CN3230

on the system board.

Set the

KB support plate

and slide it.

Secure the KB support plate with the following

screw

•

FLAT HEAD screw

CAUTION: Do not put the keyboard flexible cable on the KB support plate.

Fold down the keyboard flexible cable as shown in the figure below.

Keyboard flexible cable

Turn the

keyboard

face up and set it in place. Extra portion of the keyboard cable

must be put under the KB support plate.

Secure the

keyboard

with the following

screws

FLAT HEAD screw

Set the

KB holder

and press to secure the

latches

(front and back).
