Display Assembly
Removing the Display Assembly
To remove the T1900/T1900C’s display assembly, follow the steps below and refer to Figures
4-15 through 4-17.
1.
Turn off the power to the T1900/T1900C, and, if attached, disconnect the AC
adapter, power cord and all external cables connected to the computer.
2.
Remove the battery pack, optional memory card, optional PCMCIA card, top
cover, keyboard, keyboard base plate, and display mask as described in Sections
4.2 through 4.8.
3.
Set the
display unit
at a 90° angle to the base and remove the
two hinge covers
from the left and right hinges (Figure 4-15).

Remove the four
M2.5x8 silver screws
and two
M2.5x10 screws
on the
system
board cover
(Figure 4-16). Note that the M2.5x8 screw under the hinge secures the
ground wire.
5.
Peel back the clear
plastic insulator
covering the display cable and lift out the
system board cover
. As you lift the cover, place your fingers under the right side
to keep the
memory card housing
intact.
