When your computer is docked to the port replicator, the following
ports on the computer, if present, are not operational:

Network port
❖
Monitor ports (RGB)
❖
Audio ports (Microphone jack or Headphone/Line out)
If you want to use the docked computer's audio ports, you can enable
them as described in “Configuring audio ports” on page 18.
Otherwise, use the ports on the port replicator.
Component
Description
Microphone jack
A standard 3.5 mm mini jack for mono audio input from a
microphone.
Line out
(Headphones,
Speakers)
A standard 3.5 mm mini jack for audio output to speakers, a
headphone or headset, or other audio out devices.
LAN active light
Glows orange when the computer is exchanging data with
the network.
Network port
Connection point for a network cable.
Supports:

Ethernet (10 megabits per second,
10BASE-T)
❖
Fast Ethernet (100 megabits per second,
100BASE-T)
❖
Gigabit Ethernet (1000 megabits per second,
1000BASE-T)
Note: Gigabit Ethernet support is only available if your
computer model also supports it.
LAN connected light
Glows green to indicate the computer is connected to a LAN
hub.
Universal Serial Bus
(USB 2.0) port
Connection point for USB 2.0 or 1.1 devices.
RGB monitor port
Connection point for an analog VGA monitor.
Serial port
Connection point for a serial device. Due to the USB to
Serial emulation limitations, not all legacy serial devices
may work.
HDMI™ Out port
Connect to the HDMI™ Out port with a Type A connector
HDMI™ cable, or a DVI monitor with the included HDMI™
to DVI video cable.
An HDMI™ cable sends video and audio signals. In addition
to this, it can send and receive control signals.
Universal Serial Bus
(USB 3.0) port
Connection point for USB 3.0, 2.0, or 1.1 devices.
