INSTALLATION
This list is a summary of the installation steps for each server. The steps
in detail follow.
•
Connect the IP
edge
server to a PC or network.
–
Connect the network cables to the eth0, eth1, and IPMI
connectors before the server power is applied.
•
Apply power to the IP
edge
server.
•
From a PC login to Enterprise Manager.
Note:
Pop-ups must be enabled on the PC.
•
Set the system time and assign the NTP source.
•
Set the IP
edge
server IP address.
Note:
The IP
edge
server requires a static IP address.
ENTERPRISE MANAGER
DEFAULTS
The default IP address of the IP
edge
sever, as shipped, is
192.168.254.250, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. To login to
Enterprise Manager enter
http://192.168.254.250:8080/oamp
into the
browser address line. The User ID is
Administrator
, the password is
password
. The password is case sensitive.
IP
edge
SERVER SETUP
All of these procedures must be performed for every IP
edge
server.
Note:
When installing a multi-node system install and configure the
Primary node first.
1.
Install the IP
edge
server in a rack or equipment cabinet.
2.
Connect the IP
edge
server to a LAN or connect directly to a PC with a
‘cross-over’ cable.
3.
Power up the IP
edge
server. Set the rear panel power switch to 1 (on)
then, press the front panel power button. Initial boot-up will require
approximately 8 ~ 10 minutes.
