Transfer belt unit (TBU)

Notes:

It is recommended to wear gloves to avoid a direct touch on the belt surface. When any of the fol-
lowing maintenance works has been done, be sure to adjust the axis gap of the TBU drive gear.

SERVICE HANDBOOK "3.15 Adjustment of the axis gap of the TBU drive gear"

• Replacing the transfer belt .
• Disassembling the roller or frame of the transfer belt unit (except when only the transfer belt

or drive roller is disassembled).

(1) Take off the transfer belt cleaning unit.

(2) Remove 1 screw, and then turn the TBU lift-

ing lever counterclockwise for 90 degrees.

(3) Move the automatic duplexing unit to its

maintenance position.

(4) Open the 2nd transfer unit and ADU.
(5) Open the middle guide by holding its knob.

Note:

Do not hold the middle guide itself when
opening and closing it.
