SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
This equipment supports various features under following environments. The features available
for users vary according to the environment. The following section describes the required envi-
ronment for each feature.
The Copier functions of this equipment does not require special environment. Once you power
on the machine, you can use the copier functions.
General Requirements
This equipment requires following cables to connect with your computers.
y Connector Cable
For USB Connection: USB 1.1 compatible cable
For Ethernet Connection: 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX STP cable with a Category 5 RJ-45
connector
y A cross cable is not supported because of its instability.
y The scanning feature is unavailable during USB connection.
y This equipment can be connected with your computer in the Parallel connection when the
optional Parallel Interface is installed. In that case, please use the IEEE1284 printer cable
that comes with the optional Parallel Interface.*
y This equipment supports the USB and 10BASE/100BASE-TX connections or the Parallel
and 10BASE/100BASE-TX connections at the same time; however, it does not support
those three types of connection at the same time.*
* It is only applicable for e-STUDIO520/600/720/850, e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 and e-STUDIO
281c/351c/451c.
y TopAccess Web-base management utility
Network Protocol: TCP/IP (IPv4/IPv6)
Browser for Windows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 or later (IPv4)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or later (IPv6)
Firefox 1.5.0.4 or later
Browser for Macintosh: Firefox 1.5.0.4 or later
Safari 2.0
Browser for UNIX: Firefox 1.5.0.4 or later
Printing Features
This equipment requires following environment for printing functions.
For e-STUDIO352/452, e-STUDIO353/453, e-STUDIO202L/232/282, e-STUDIO203L/233/283,
e-STUDIO520/600/720/850 and e-STUDIO523/603/723/853, the printing features are available
only when the Printer Kit or Printer and Scanner Kit is installed.
y Printing from Windows Platform
Display Resolution: 1024 x 768 dots or more
Display Color:
High Color (16bit) or higher is recommended
CPU: Pentium 133 MHz minimum
(Pentium 266 MHz or faster recommended)
Memory: The required memory size for OS.
