Switching the Fuel Tanks
Important:
Do not allow the machine to run out of fuel,
as this can damage the machine.
The fuel-selector valve is located behind the left side of the
seat.
The unit has 2 fuel tanks. One tank is on the left side and
one on the right side. Each tank connects to the fuel-selector
valve. From there a common fuel line leads to the engine
(
To use the left fuel tank, rotate the fuel-selector valve to the
left. To use the right fuel tank, rotate the fuel-selector valve
to the right (
).
Close the fuel-selector valve before transporting or storing

Checking the Engine-Oil Level
Before you start the engine and use the machine, check
the oil level in the engine crankcase; refer to
Engine-Oil Level (page 17)
.
Breaking in a New Machine
New engines take time to develop full power. Mower decks
and drive systems have higher friction when new, placing
additional load on the engine. Allow 40 to 50 hours of
break-in time for new machines to develop full power and
best performance.
