On order, TORNOS SA will install a fire extinguishing system on all its products (refe­
rence 5480).
Warning ! Machining Conditions
Machining generates a potentially hot heat source ; the presence of oil mists or
vapors, use of inappropriate cutting oil, insufficient lubrication or cooling, inad­
equate programming, unsuitable, worn or broken tool, accummulated chips
and/or debris significantly increase the risk of fire.
To securize the machinings, non-exhaustive fire prevention measures are
applied as follows :
Check the following in terms of the actual machining :
- the application field of the materials to be machined;
- the quality of the cutting tools
(tool breakage detector proposed by
TORNOS SA ).
Check the lubrication conditions :
- the application field of the lubricants;
- the coolant is correctly distributed in the machining area;
- the cutting fluid flow rate, temperature and state.
Maintain the machine and ventilation :
- in a satisfactorily clean condition: the machining area (chips), cutting liquid filter­
ings, as well as its conduits and intake nozzles;
- in a perfect operating condition: the smoke extracting fans.
