CHAPTER 2 - SPRITE/NIMBUS MODELS
DISMANTLING & REASSEMBLY OF AXLE CENTRE ASSYS. USING SHIM SPACERS
TO REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL UNIT WITH SERVICE TOOLS:
1. First drain the lubricant from the gear carrier housing and then remove the gear
carrier rear cover. Flush out the unit thoroughly, so that the parts can be carefully
inspected. Remove the axle shafts as previously detailed.
2. Note markings on bearing caps and axle casing for use when refitting.
3. Remove bearing caps using the loosened bolts to ease the caps away from the
bearing.
