OVER-RIDING CUE FADE TIMES
During a cue fade you can move the Scene Fade master to a new time—the fade will continue at the new rate. You should then reset the
fade time to Auto for the next cue.
HOLDING CUE FADES
While the Hold key remains down, the action of the Show fade timer is halted, and the current output lighting state will be held until the
key is released. This is useful if a slow fade is progressing too fast for the action on stage.
SKIPPING CUES
If you need to skip a cue or two, or go back several cues, keep the Hold key down while you press the Cue Go or Cue Back keys.
Alternatively you can move the Scene Fade master to say 50 minutes until you have found the right cue, and then move the lever to a
suitable fade time to introduce the new levels. You should then reset the fade time to Auto for the next cue.
COMPLETING A FADE
During rehearsal, you may need to go to a new cue state without waiting for the auto fade to complete. You can do this by moving the
Scene Fade lever to Instant, or by using the Hold and Latch keys as follows to complete the fade instantly:
> Hold down [HOLD], then press [LATCH]: the lighting will snap instantly to the new cue state.
SPLIT FADE TIMES
The Cuemaster can perform split fade cues by splitting the cue over two cue states, the second cue being a follow-on. Take as example a
new cue up time of 4 seconds and old cue fade out time of 10 seconds. In this case, when the new cue is complete after 4 seconds, the
last cue has come down 40% and still has 6 seconds to fade out completely. Assume that you have just recorded the last cue from the
Channel faders, and it is live on stage:
1 Press [STORE]<$IStore key> to temporarily store the last cue in the Park Master (set at zero).
2 Plot levels for the new cue on the Channel faders, and set the fade time at 4 seconds, the new cue up time.
3 Add the Park Master at 60% (i.e. down 40%) to the new cue levels, and press [RECORD]—the new cue up state.
4 Set the Park Master<N>off, set the fade time at 6 seconds, and press [RECORD]—the follow on cue.
Operating the split fade is then simple: on the new cue, press Cue Go and when the Show Fade LED stops flashing (after 4 seconds),
press Cue Go again for the follow on cue. The last cue state has taken a total of 10 seconds to fade out. Using this proportional
technique, all types of split fades can be executed.
