ENGINE
COOLING SYSTEM
Check the radiator coolant level every 100 hours
of operation. Use clean water mixed with a
permanent-type, ethylene glycol antifreeze to a
--34
_
C (--30
_
F) rating.
FOR SAFETY: When servicing machine,
avoid contact with hot engine coolant.
Check the radiator hoses and clamps every
200 hours of operation. Tighten the clamps if they
are loose. Replace the hoses and clamps if the
hoses are cracked, harden, or swollen.
Check the radiator core exterior and hydraulic
cooler fins for debris every 100 hours of
operation. Blow or rinse all dust, which may have
collected on the radiator, in through the grille and
radiator fins, opposite the direction of normal air
flow. Be careful not to bend the cooling fins when
cleaning. Clean thoroughly to prevent the fins
becoming encrusted with dust. Clean the radiator
and cooler only after the radiator has cooled to
avoid cracking.
FOR SAFETY: When servicing machine,
wear eye and ear protection when using
pressurized air or water.
Flush the radiator and the cooling system every
800 hours of operation, using a dependable
cleaning compound.
AIR FILTER INDICATOR (OPTIONAL)
The air filter indicator shows when to replace the
air filter element. Check the indicator daily. The
indicator’s red line will move as the air filter
element fills with dirt. Do not replace the air filter
element until the red line reaches
5 kPa (20 in H
2
O) and the “SERVICE WHEN
RED” window is filled with red. The indicator’s red
line may return to a lower reading on the scale
when the engine shuts off. The red line will return
to a correct reading after the engine runs for a
while.
Reset the air filter indicator by pushing the reset
button on the end of the indicator after replacing
the air filter element.
