Installation Overview
Installing a new faceplate on a Lightspeed server is a fairly simple process, consisting of
these four main operations:
•
Open the packaging and locate the new chassis rack ears and four associated rack
ear installation screws.
•
On the Lightspeed chassis, remove the existing rack ear brackets by removing the
two retaining screws that secure each rack ear bracket.
•
Once the old brackets are removed, install the new provided rack ear brackets
using the new retaining screws, two per side.
•
With the new rack ears in place, align the new faceplate with the front of the chassis
and snap it in place by gently aligning the ball studs on the new brackets with the
matching ball stud sockets in the new faceplate.
Installation Procedure
Follow these installation steps.
1.
Locate the new chassis rack ear brackets and the four retaining screws.
The new rack ear brackets contain ball studs that protrude out and are used to
secure the faceplate when attached.
