Charging the Power/Telemetry Module
The optional Power/Telemetry module is powered by an internal 14V, 4.5Ah NiMH battery.
To charge the system:
6. Disconnect all instrumentation from the module and remove the module from the boat.
7. Place the module in a well-ventilated area away from flammable hazards. There is no need to re-
move the battery from the module.
8. Connect the provided smart charger and charging cables (73L-4004-00 and 73L-4005-00) to the
Charge port on the module.
9. Plug the smart charger into an acceptable wall unit; the charger’s LED will flash red a couple of
times then shift to solid red. NOTE: if the charger is plugged into a wall outlet prior to connecting
the battery, it may not switch into a charging state automatically and the LED may remain green.
If that occurs, unplug the charger from the wall until the green LED fades off, then plug it back
into the wall.
10. When charging is complete the LED will change to illuminate green.
11. Do NOT overcharge the module. As with any battery, the module should be supervised while
charging and should not be left unattended. Ensure the module is disconnected as soon as charg-
ing is complete.
