If the resting 24V battery pack voltage measures less than 16V, do not charge it. The battery pack is no
longer usable and should be disposed of properly.
•
Under rare circumstances, the charger may finish the charging cycle prematurely before the battery
has been fully charged. Verify that the battery has been fully charged by measuring the voltages across
each of the 3 discharge terminals. All voltages should be roughly equal and should be higher than the
battery’s rated voltage of 24V. Also, factor in the duration of charge when deciding whether to trust
the battery charger’s automatic cutoff. Battery packs which are completely discharged should require
3-4 hours to reach a full charge. If you suspect that the charging cycle may have terminated prema-
turely, disconnect the battery charger from its AC supply, wait for the LED to turn off completely,
then reconnect the battery charger and restart the charge process.
•
Once each month, the propulsion battery(s) should be fully discharged before recharging to avoid
memory problems that may be caused by repeatedly charging partially discharged batteries.
Battery Charging Sequence:
•
Connect the Anderson power leads between battery pack and charger.
•
Plug the charger into an AC power supply. The red LED will blink on/off a couple of times then stay
on showing that it is charging.
•
After battery is fully charged the green LED will be on showing that the battery is fully charged. The
battery should now be disconnected.
•
The LED will stay green if there is no battery connected; the charger is functioning properly.
