Fiber :: Install guide
Figure 4-6 - Route Pigtail Fibers in the Splice Tray
Refer to
Figure 4-6
for this procedure.
Pigtail fi bers route from connectors that connect adapters to jumpers and patch the fi bers in the LTX panel. Refer to
Section 4.1.5,
Install
Pigtail Fiber Connectors
before completeing this section.
NOTE: Ensure designation label is marked with correct designation information.
1.
Route a pigtail fi ber from connector into the splice tray at the opposite corner entrance from where IFC fi bers route into the tray.
NOTE: Keep track of individual fi bers entering the splice tray. Place each individual fi ber from the fi rst 12 fi bers entering the tray into
separate entrance slots. Place the next 12 fi bers on top of the fi rst twelve and the third group of 12 fi bers on top of the fi rst and second
groups. Up to 36 fi bers can enter the tray (three fi bers will end up being in each entry slot.)
2.
Loosely route each individual pigtail fi ber through the tray maintaining a bend radius of no less than 7 inches. Keep the fi ber beneath the
protective tabs along the edge of the splice tray.
3.
Route the fi ber through the tray around the sleeve holder position and into the corresponding sleeve holder about halfway so that fi ber
ends do not touch the IF fi bers.
4.
For each fi ber routed into the tray, repeat this section (until 36 pigtail fi bers have been routed into this splice tray). As fi bers are added
record locations on the designation label attached to the panel door.
5.
