Diagnostics and Calibration

This section describes Diagnostics, Calibration and two checking features, which
are available on the

DTG5000 Series

. These test items are located in the System

menu.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics is a hardware diagnostic feature that executes a comprehensive test on
the

DTG5000 Series

. The feature usually executes the diagnostic test automatically

when you power on the

DTG5000 Series

. You can also have this feature execute the

test, if necessary, through the System menu or using remote commands. By
executing the diagnostic test, you can verify whether the hardware is running
normally. The Diagnostics feature of the

DTG5000 Series

tests the following items:

Registers

Clocks

Outputs

Sequence memory

Pattern memory

Diagnostics on slave machines are not executed individually; they are executed
simultaneously on the master machine.

Power On Diagnostic Test

When you power on the

DTG5000 Series

, it automatically executes a diagnostic test

for all the diagnostics items, except the pattern memory cell test, while the Startup
window remains on-screen. When detecting an error, this test displays an error
message. If you see such a message, press the ENTER key and click the OK button
to proceed with the next step. The DTG5000 software starts. When the

DTG5000

Series

contains an unsolved error, the test cannot be conducted normally. In such a

case, contact our Customer Service Center.
