LAN Interface

The DTG5000 Series supports two Ethernet LANs. One of these is a conventional 
LAN using TCP/IP protocol, and the other is the Tek VISA LAN, which uses 
VXI-11 protocol.

LAN parameters

In the DTG5000 series, set parameters to start or stop a process that performs 
communication by LAN.

VXI-11 Server (LAN):

 VXI-11 protocol used via Tek VISA. In order to use 

this protocol, Tek VISA must also be installed on the remote controller (PC). 
Starting and stopping the VXI-11 server are controlled here.

„

Raw Socket (LAN):

 TCP/IP protocol is used. On and Off of socket 

communication are controlled here. The port number is fixed to 4003. This port 
number must be assigned to the application software or the Ethernet driver on 
the external controller. 

By default, the DTG5000 Series is specified to automatically acquire an IP address 
by DHCP. Refer to Windows documentation regarding network-related 
parameters. For Tek VISA, refer to the Tek VISA manual.

Setting the Remote Control parameters

To set the GPIB address, you can use either the DTG5000 Configuration Utility or 
the System menu in the menu bar. The setting procedure is the same.
