Model 4000 WPP Upgrade
Version 6.0R2
Using the Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset
Note
The wipes on program preset functionality is an orderable option for Model
4000-3 switchers ordered before April 10, 1998. This functionality now comes
standard on all 4000-3s shipped after October 19th, 1998. Systems that were
ordered in the interim will receive an upgrade kit as part of the purchase price.
The wipes on the program/preset (PGM/PST) function for the Model 4000-3
provide the following features:
■
Wipe transitions on the PGM/PST.
■
PGM/PST primary wipe border mattes. (Via menus.)
■
Wipe subpanel, menu, and positioner control for PGM/PST wipes.
Wipe Transitions
Only switchers with the wipes on the program/preset (PGM/PST) hard-
ware and software properly installed are capable of the new functionality.
The PGM/PST transition subpanel contains a push-button called PSTBL/
WIPE. This button controls preset black or wipe transitions. To set the
PSTBL/WIPE button to preset black, or a wipe:
■
Select the CONFG menu button,
■
Press F1-USER PREFS>,
■
Press F2-PGM PST TRANS. This toggles between preset black
(PSTBLK) or wipe (WIPE).
■
Alternatively, users can DPOP with the SHIFT button.
The PSTBL/WIPE transition button will indicate which mode is selected,
depending on the mode selected in the USER PREFS menu:
■
Button dark = mix, in either wipe or PST BLK mode.
■
Button high tallied = wipe (no preset black).
■
Button blinking = mix, preset black armed (with no wipe).
When in preset black mode, wipe transitions are disabled. The switcher’s
internal state shall be MIX whenever preset black mode is active. Likewise,
preset black is disabled when in WIPE mode. When WIPE mode is selected
(USER PREFS>PGM PST TRANS) and PSTBL/WIPE button is pressed
(lamp is high tallied) the wipe subpanel will autodelegate to PGM/PST
PRI.
Note
Users that are accustomed to earlier iterations of the software might be at first
confused by the new PSTBL/WIPE transition button. To clarify: It can operate
in three modes. You can choose between a a mix (when the lamp is off), a wipe,
(when the lamp is on and WIPE mode is selected), or a PST BLK mix transition
(when the lamp is blinking and PST BLK mode is selected.)
