Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset Upgrade

Use a 5/16-inch nut driver to remove the eight white plastic nuts from
the board stand-offs. Save the nuts for re-use.
6.
Remove the obsolete #068977-00 (REV. A or REV. B) PuP board.
7.
Install the new #068977-00 (REV. C) PuP board, using the eight white
plastic nuts saved from the old board.
Do not use a nut driver to re-
install these nuts; they must be hand-tightened only. Use of a nut
driver may cause damage to the stand-offs.
8.
Reconnect the seven ribbon cables on the new #068977-00 (REV. C) PuP
board, insuring that they are firmly seated.
9.
Remove the protective bag covering the bottom PCB.
10.
Place the obsolete PCB and the packaging in an appropriate recycling
receptacle.
11.
Power up the switcher panel.
12.
Lower the lid of the switcher panel.
13.
Remove the old keycaps (one at a time, to avoid confusion) and replace
each of them with the corresponding new keycaps.
14.
Discard the old keycaps.
15.
PCB and keycap installation is complete.
Software Installation Procedure Overview
The software installation procedure is described briefly below. Refer to the
current edition of the software release notes for details.

Save current Configuration and/or E-MEM data to diskette,
■
Load the new software from diskette,
■
Re-load the previously saved Configuration and/or E-MEM files from
diskette,
■
Verify success of the software installation.
