Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset Upgrade
Introduction
A new printed circuit board (PCB) has been added to the Tektronix Grass
Valley Model 4000-3 Digital Switcher to allow the wipes on program preset
functionality.
The wipes on program preset function was an option for 4000-3 switchers
ordered before April 10, 1998. This functionality now comes standard on all
newly-manufactured Model 4000-3s. It is also available as an upgrade kit
for systems in the field that were manufactured before April 10, 1998. This
upgrade can be ordered under the nomenclature: 4000-3-WUPG, (Tek-
tronix part # 0633075-00).
The upgrade installation requires:

Mechanical installation of the flip-flop Mix PuP circuit board, Tektronix
Part #068977-00 (REV C).

Mechanical installation of the new keycaps.
■
Loading of updated system software.
This document describes in detail how to accomplish the aforementioned
tasks.
The upgrade should be performed by qualified maintenance personnel.
Note
In order to function, the wipes on PGM/PST hardware must be installed, the
software must be loaded, and the new features must be enabled. When the new
software is installed but the new function is not enabled, the wipe and posi-
tioner delegation lamps will not match the key caps for those buttons. It is
important to note that the function is enabled when the switcher leaves the fac-
tory. If desired, the operator can access the CONFIG > SYS PARAM menu to
disable the functionality to match the old key caps. See pages 3 through 5 for
details.
