The following standard (EN ISO 11612:2015) specifies the performance require
-
ments for protective clothing which are made from flexible materials and designed to
protect the body. The protective clothing protects the wearer from heat and/or flame,
limited flame spread, radiant, convective or contact heat
and molten metal splashes, with the exception of the
hands. The wearer should wear protective clothing such
as gaiters, hoods and overshoes to protect their head
and feet. There are no requirements for visor plates and
breathing apparatus in relation to hoods. Suits that
protect against heat and flame must completely cover

The protective clothing fulfils the
performance requirements specified in the pictogram:
The types of hazard listed in this standard are divided
into 3 performance levels.
For protection against intensive radiant heat (code C) there is a fourth performance
level which covers high performance materials such
as aluminium and similar materials. The required level of personal
protection should be based on a risk assessment.
Level 1: Exposure to a low risk
Level 2: Exposure to a medium risk
Level 3: Exposure to a high risk
