Why you need filter systems for your garden pond!

Naturally-formed ponds have a biological equilibrium between plant and animal life which continuously regulate

itself with a self-cleaning cycle.

In many artificially created garden ponds, this equilibrium cannot adjust itself in a natural way and therefore

requires the support of this biological/ mechanical pond filter system.

Usage in or to swimming pools not permitted!

Assembly (see Fig. B)

-   Remove complete filter assembly from package and check completeness of delivery.

-   Mount 3 ball valves (19) with gaskets (9) and Screw connection (11) on filter housing (1).

-   Mount housing connector (6) with gasket (8) and union nut (7) on filter housing (1).

-   Screw 2 partition plates (5) with brackets (26) and nuts (27) and insert in the filter container (1).

-   Fill filter housing (1) with filter brushes (14) and filter sponges (15).

-   Tip filter granulate (16) out of the plastic bag into the net bag and insert in the filter container(1).

Assembly of vortex chamber (see Fig. C)

-   This vortex chamber increases the filter volume of the MTS 30000 UV25 by approx. 3000 liters!

-   Remove vortex chamber from the package and check completeness of delivery.

-   Mount ball valve (19) with gasket (9) and Screw connection (11) on the vortex chamber (50).

-   Insert additional bulkhead (5) in the filter housing (1).

-   Cut out an opening for the vortex chamber on the filter cover (2) according to the marking (X).

Assembly of UVC Lamp (see Fig. B + C)

(see also the operating instructions for the UVC lamp)

-   Twist the threaded connectors of the UVC lamp into the desired position.

Attention! comply with the operating instructions.

-   Place the UVC lamp (23) with gasket (10) on the filter cover (2/51) and fasten with reducer bushing (17),

screws (20), and nuts (21).

-   Screw the adapter (18) to the reducer bushing (17).

-   During assembly of the vortex chamber, screw the angle (52) to the adapter (18) in such a way that it is

parallel to the outside diameter of the vortex chamber.

-   Place filter cover (2/51) with UVC lamp (23) on the filter housing (1/50).

-   Fasten hose fitting (12) with O-ring (13) on the second threaded connector of the UVC lamp (23).

(Cut off hose fitting at Ø 40 mm).

Setting up in garden pond (see Fig. A)

-   Set up the filter and the vortex chamber, if applicable, horizontally next to the pond. When using with vortex

chamber a stable pedestal must be set up for the filter MTS 30000 UV25 - Height approx. 10 cm, length

approx. 60 cm and width approx. 40 cm!

-   Screw the pump hose connections onto the pump.

-   Connect the pump and the UV-C radiator with the pump hose Ø 40 mm.

-   Set the pump up approximately 40 cm deep in the pond as far from the filter as possible. Ensure that the

pump is based on a solid, mud-free support (paving slab).

-   If water cannot run directly from the filter into the pond, attach a hose or pipe to the housing connector

Ø 50 (6) mm.

Starting up

Caution! Observe safety measures for UV-C radiator and pump!

-   Starting up the filter system:

1. Connect the pump to the mains supply.

2. Check that all connections are watertight.

3. Connect the UV-C radiator to the mains supply.

-   We recommend that this filter system is operated continuously (24 hours per day) in the summer season

between March and October.

-

Caution! Check that the filter system is functioning correctly at regular intervals. Ensure that the filter is

cleaned before it blocks and overflows.

Cleaning the pond filter (see Fig. B + C)

1.   The filtration system should be inspected at regular intervals.

2.   The timing of the intervals is based on the respective degree of contamination.

3.  Most of the contamination can be discharged by opening the ball valves (19) briefly.

After extended periods of operation, this filtration system should be cleaned thoroughly:

1.  Clean the UVC lamp and pump according to the instructions.

2.  Rinse filter brushes (14) and filter sponges (15) with pond water.

3.  Rinse the filter granules (16) only with pond water to preserve the biologically active bacteria.

4.  Clean the inside of the filter also.
