DRIVE CHAIN
The condition and adjustment of the
drive chain should be checked before
each use of the vehicle. Always follow
the guidelines below for inspecting
and servicing the chain.
Inspecting the Drive Chain
When inspecting the chain, look for
the following:
•
Loose pins
• Damaged rollers
• Dry or rusted links
• Kinked or binding links
• Excessive wear
If you find anything wrong with the
drive chain condition, correct the
problem if you know how. If neces-
sary, consult your authorized SUZUKI
dealer.
Damage to the drive chain means
that the sprockets may also be dam-
aged. Inspect the sprockets for the
following:
Good Worn
• Excessively worn teeth
• Broken or damaged teeth
• Loose sprocket mounting nut(s)
If you find any of these problems with
your sprocket, consult your SUZUKI
dealer.

WARNING
Failure to maintain the chain prop-
erly before each ride can be haz-
ardous.
Riding with the chain in poor con-
dition can lead to an accident.
Be sure to inspect and maintain
the chain before each ride,
according to these guidelines.
