STARTING THE ENGINE
Before attempting to start the engine,
make sure to follow these steps.
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the key to the “ON” position.
3. Set the engine stop switch to the
“RUN” position.
4. Set the fuel valve to the “ON” posi-
tion.
This vehicle has two systems for
engine starting. You can use the elec-
tric starter or the recoil starter. To use
the electric starter, simply push the
electric starter button. When you use
the recoil starter, follow the procedure
below.

Pull the starter rope slowly until
you feel the starter engage. With
the starter engaged, pull the rope
forcefully to start the engine.
When the Engine is Cold:
1. Push the choke lever all the way
down.
2. Close the throttle. Push the elec-
tric starter button or use the recoil
starter as described above.
3. When the engine will operate
smoothly without use of the
choke, return the choke lever all
the way.
When the Engine is Warm:
Use of the choke should not be nec-
essary. Open the throttle slightly and
push the electric starter button or use
the recoil starter as described previ-
ously to start the engine.
CAUTION
Engaging the starter motor for
more than five seconds at a time
can damage the ATV.
The starter motor and wiring har-
ness may overheat.
If the engine does not start after
several tries, check the fuel supply
and ignition system.
WARNING
The ATV can start moving as soon
as you start the engine.
Unexpected movement can cause
you to lose control of the ATV.
Be sure to set the parking brake
before you start the engine.
WARNING
Running your ATV indoors where
there is little or no ventilation can
he hazardous.
When breathed in, exhaust gases
from the ATV can cause death or
severe injury.
Always run your ATV outdoors
where there is fresh air.
