6-10 Installing and Replacing the Adapter Card
Adapter cards (Figure 6-14) provide hot-swappable functionality to the chassis.

Removing the Adapter Card
1. Remove the motherboard node from the back of the chassis. It is not
necessary to power down the system.
2. Remove the ten screws securing the adapter card to the drawer and set them
aside for later use.
3. Remove the adapter card from the motherboard drawer.
Installing the Adapter Card
1. Make sure the motherboard has been installed properly in the node drawer
before installing the adapter card
2. Place the adapter card in the motherboard drawer, aligning the holes in the
adapter card with the holes in the motherboard drawer.
3. Secure the adapter card to the motherboard drawer, using the ten M3 fl athead
screws which were previously set aside.
4. Return the motherboard drawer to the closed position in the chassis.
