6-7 Removing and Installing the Backplane
The SC217HD chassis backplane is located behind the hard drives and in front of
the front system fans. Although backplane failure rarely occurs, in the event of a
backplane failure, follow the instructions below.
Removing the Backplane
Removing the Backplane from the Chassis
1. Power down the system, unplug the power cord from the rear of the power
supply.and remove the cover.
2. Disconnect the cabling to the backplane.
3. Remove all of the hard drive carriers from the front of the chassis.
4. Remove the two front panel cables from the backplane.
5. Remove the four upper screws at the top of the backplane.
6. Remove screw from the side of the chassis (Figure 6-7)
7. Remove the side screw from the side of the chassis, as indicated by the
arrows below.
