5-7 Adding PCI Add-On Cards
The SC823S-550LP/SC823i-550LP chassis can accommodate three standard size
(full height, full length) PCI expansion slots on the PDSM4+/PDSME+. To install an
add-on card, begin by removing the PCI slot shield for the slot you wish to populate.
Fully seat the card into the card slot on the motherboard, pushing down with your
thumbs evenly on both sides of the card. Finish by using a screw to secure the top
of the card shield to the backpanel of the chassis. The PCI slot shields protect the
motherboard and its components from EMI and aid in proper ventilation, so make
sure there is always a shield covering each unused PCI-E/PCI-X slot.
To Install: Insert module vertically and press down until it snaps into place. Pay attention to the bottom
notches.
To Remove: Use your thumbs to gently push each release tab outward to free the DIMM from the
slot.
