5-2 Connecting
Cables
The FatTwin F617H6-FTL+/FTPTL+ server needs to have both power and data
cables connected to the X9DRFF-7G+/7TG+ serverboard.
Connecting SATA Power Cables
Various cables used to power each node's SATA drives are connected between
the serverboard/power distribution board (PDB) and the drives backplane board.
Connecting Data Cables
The cables used to transfer data from the peripheral devices have been carefully
routed in preconfi gured systems to prevent them from blocking the fl ow of cooling
air that moves through the system from front to back. If you need to disconnect
any of these cables, you should take care to reroute them as they were originally
after reconnecting them (make sure the red wires connect to the pin 1 locations). If
you are confi guring the system, keep the airfl ow in mind when routing the cables.
5-3 Control Panel Connectors and I/O Ports
The front I/O ports are color coded in conformance with the PC 99 specifi cation.
See Figure 5-1 below for the colors and locations of the various I/O ports.
